A new generation of Chinese tractors, featuring advanced technologies such as intelligent control, new energy drive and precision operation, has emerged, breaking foreign technological monopolies and reshaping the global agricultural equipment landscape.

YTO Group and LOVOL have launched a series of innovative tractor models, marking China's leap from a major tractor producer to a technological powerhouse. At the 2025 China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition, domestic high-end tractors stole the spotlight: Weichai Lovol's CVT continuously variable transmission tractors have achieved mass production, while YTO Group's power-shift models have received positive market feedback. Industry forecasts show that the penetration rate of CVT technology in the medium and large tractor market will exceed 35% in 2026, and power-shift models will account for more than 60%, forming a gradient product matrix covering high-end, mid-end and basic segments.
New energy innovation has become a core driving force for the upgrading of Chinese tractors. Weichai Lovol launched the world's first pure electric tractor E1000 at the 2025 Hannover Messe, adopting a dual-motor and two-speed AMT power solution with a cruising range of over 300 kilometers, which can meet the demand of 12 hours of continuous spring ploughing in the Central Plains region. Lingong Agricultural Machinery announced that it will realize the electrification of all products above 200 horsepower in 2026, and its hybrid ECVT continuously variable transmission tractor T3804-7EA has been put into mass production. In addition, Yuchai Power's second-generation hybrid assembly YCK09IE-Power and Zhongke Power's alcohol-hydrogen direct-drive intelligent tractors have further enriched China's new energy tractor product line.
Intelligent Tractor Upgrading
Intelligent upgrading has also injected new vitality into the new generation of Chinese tractors. Unmanned driving technology has entered the commercial application stage, with many models equipped with 5G+ Beidou high-precision positioning systems, achieving centimeter-level operation accuracy. YTO Group's LF2204 driverless tractor can complete full-scene unmanned operations from rotary tillage to ploughing, with a continuous operation capacity of 12 hours on a single refueling.
Policy support and market demand have jointly promoted the rapid development of new Chinese tractors. The 2025 Central No. 1 Document included new energy agricultural machinery in the key scope of "preferential subsidies for high-quality machinery", and Anhui Province launched a pilot special subsidy policy for new energy agricultural machinery, reducing the actual purchase cost of 200-horsepower hybrid tractors by 18% compared with fuel-powered models. Driven by policies, the domestic market has shown a clear trend of upgrading, with the penetration rate of power-shift tractors exceeding 60% in large-scale agricultural areas such as Northeast China and Xinjiang.
Oversaes Markets
Overseas markets have become a new growth pole for Chinese tractors. Customs data shows that China exported 185,539 tractors in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 20.2%, with an export value of 1.25 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 33.5%. The export average price reached 6,800 US dollars per unit, an increase of 1,000 US dollars compared with 2024. Major enterprises have accelerated their overseas layout: YTO Group's overseas sales increased by 41% year-on-year in 2025, establishing local assembly bases in Southeast Asia and Africa, and shortening the product delivery cycle to 30 days. Weichai Lovol's E1000 pure electric tractor has obtained the EU CE certification, opening the door to the European market.
