China Continues to Strengthen Food Support

This year, China will continue to implement policies such as subsidies for protecting farmland fertility, subsidies for rice cultivation, and subsidies for corn and soybean producers in Northeast China. It will also launch pilot projects for special loans to subsidize grain and oil planting, subsidies for soybean seed coating in Northeast China, and use a combination of policies to support grain and soybean production. Efforts will be made to mobilize farmers' enthusiasm and provide policy guarantees for consolidating the achievements of soybean expansion and achieving the goal of a grain output of about 1.4 trillion kilograms.

The "Spring Equinox" is approaching, and spring plowing and sowing will be fully carried out from south to north, which is a critical period for implementing the area of spring sowing grain this year and consolidating the foundation of grain production. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will guide various regions to implement policies that strengthen agriculture, benefit farmers, and enrich farmers, promote the prices of grain and important agricultural products to remain at a reasonable level, ensure that farmers have basic income from growing grain, and mobilize their enthusiasm for growing grain and farming. At the same time, expert guidance groups, industry expert service teams, and technology teams will be organized around key links such as cultivation, management, and harvesting. They will conduct on-site guidance and technical services, carry out technical training at all levels, improve the rate and coverage of key technologies, and make every effort to consolidate the foundation of a bountiful harvest.
